Turkish Edition of e4e Now Available

TORONTO, October 2011:  The Turkish-language translation of e4e has now been published by the socialist Turkish publishing house Yordam Kitap.  Here is a link to the website.  Turkey has long been a "hotbed" for progressive economics instruction & research, so I am very honoured to have e4e accessible to that audience.

French Translation Launched in Montreal, Nov. 3

MONTREAL, October 2011 - The long-awaited French translation of e4e will be launched by its publisher, Lux Editeur, at a public meeting in Montreal on Thursday, November 3.  The meeting will take place at 7:00 pm that night in Room SH-4800, Pavillon Sherbrooke, at the Universite du Quebec a Montreal (UQAM), 200 Rue Sherbrooke E.

e4e Web Traffic Continues to Grow!

MAY 3, 2010:  Kerri-Anne Finn, the wonderful communications person at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternative, has just kindly compiled some interesting statistics on traffic to this web site.  Interestingly, traffic has continued to grow steadily over the time since e4e was published.  The site is now attracting almost 1000 visits per month.

#1 Best-Seller! (in Calgary, anyway)

MAY 11, 2009 -- I guess it's fair to claim that Economics for Everyone is now officially a "best-seller."  In the week following my visit to Calgary in April (where I gave two talks, fabulously hosted by the Arusha Centre, Parkland Institute, and the Council of Canadians), e4e became the best-selling non-fiction book in the whole city (according to the Calgary Herald, Calgary's major daily).

More e4e Events: Montreal, Vancouver, Kingston, Ottawa

JANUARY 5, 2009 -- I will be speaking about Economics for Everyone, linking it to the global financial crisis, at several more public events across Canada in the next few weeks.  Here's the calendar -- I'd love to see you there!

MONTREAL, TUESDAY JANUARY 20

Recession or Depression?
THE ECONOMIC CRISIS and the DECLINE OF THE MIDDLE CLASS
(With Kari Polanyi-Levitt)
Time: 7 pm,
Place: Atwater Library, 1200 Atwater ave. near St.Catherine west (Metro Atwater)

VANCOUVER, FRIDAY JANUARY 30

The Workers' Economist!

NOVEMBER 20, 2009 -- We had a most excellent public meeting on e4e in St. Catharines Ontario last week (on Nov. 13).  It was hosted at the CAW Local 199 hall. Many thanks especially to President Wayne Gates, who presided at the meeting, just getting over some major health challenges.  Also to Peter Scott, organizer extraordinaire, who pulled the logistics togther.

Over 100 people attended (sadly, fire restrictions turned some away).  Many guests of honour included Malcolm Allen, newly-minted MP for Welland and long-time CAW local leader.

Report on More Launch Events

OCTOBER 7, 2008 -- I've had a great time visiting a few cities and giving talks based on Economics for Everyone in several cities over the past few weeks.

My trip through Manitoba and Saskatchewan featured two evening talks in Winnipeg and Regina, organized in each case by the local branch of the CCPA (attracting about 75 people at each), and a smaller presentation hosted by the fine progressive economists at the University of Manitoba.
